Pear and Blue Cheese Scones

Dear Turkey,

Sweet or savory
Flaky, but not overboard
I keep eating them

Pear and Blue Cheese Scones
(makes 10)

Ingredients:
- 1 firm pear (I used bosc), diced
- 1 stick butter, fridge temp
- 1 c buttermilk
- 1 T baking powder
- 1 t salt
- 3 T sugar
- 3 c flour (I used white)
- 1 c blue cheese (or whatever cheese you want)

Instructions:
- Using a pastry cutter, chop together everything except the pears and cheese just until a very craggy dough forms.
- Chop in pears and cheese just until the dough will hold together in a disk shape -- knead it with your hands a time or two if you have to.
- Cover a baking stone with parchment paper and shape the dough into a circle shape (don't be picky), about an inch thick.
- Bake at 400 F for 20-30 minutes or until the top feels firm to the touch and is just starting to turn golden brown. Cool slightly and slice into triangles. Serve with jam, or as a bread to mop up soup or pasta sauce, or anything in between. These freeze well.

Enjoy,
Tofu
