My hummus seemed to
Lack something but I never
Would have guessed bouillon
Umami Hummus Sensation
(adapted from Better than Bouillon)
Ingredients:
- 2 regular size cans (or one giant can) chick peas, rinsed well and drained
- 1 T Better than Bouillon (vegetarian -- there are a few flavors)
- 1/4 c lemon juice (from a bottle is fine)
- 2 t fresh garlic (you don't really have to chop it up if you have a good food processor, which I don't)
- 1 t cumin
- 3/4 c olive oil
- 1 t fresh chives, cut up a bit
- 1/4 t black pepper
- chili powder and more chopped chives, for garnish
Instructions:
- Microwave the chick peas for about 1 minute, or until they get a tiny bit soft (hummus secret).
- Combine everything except garnishes in the food processor and process until smooth.
- Serve sprinkled with garnishes.
